The Bangladesh youth football team has officially completed a difficult and winless campaign in the group stage of the tournament in Uzbekistan, following a 3-0 defeat against arch-rivals India yesterday. This final fixture capped off a disastrous run of matches for the national youth side, who struggled immensely on the international stage throughout the entire competition.

Over the course of the group stage, Bangladesh played a total of three matches and suffered defeats in every single fixture. The team's struggles began in their opening match, where they suffered a 2-0 defeat against the tournament hosts, Uzbekistan. Following that disappointing start, the side faced Syria in their second fixture and succumbed to a heavy 3-0 defeat.

The offensive and defensive statistics from the tournament paint a grim picture of the team's performance. Across their three group matches, Bangladesh failed to score a single goal, resulting in a completely goalless campaign. Meanwhile, their defensive frailties were heavily exposed as they conceded a total of eight goals over the course of the competition.

The poor performances during the opening stages of the tournament prompted immediate administrative action from the federation. Following the defeats in the first two matches, English coach Gerard Jones was dismissed from his position by the governing body, bringing an abrupt end to his tenure.

In the wake of the coaching change, assistant coach Atikur Rahman Mishu stepped up to manage the technical area for the final encounter. Mishu took charge of the team's dugout for yesterday's concluding fixture against India, where the side ultimately fell to a 3-0 scoreline, cementing their bottom-place finish in the group.
