Bangladesh to Send 200,000 Workers to Malaysia Starting Late September
Bangladesh will send two hundred thousand workers to Malaysia starting late September, with the entire process expected to be completed within six months. The announcement follows a high-level meeting at the Secretariat in Dhaka between Malaysian High Commissioner Mohammad Suhada Osman and the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.
The process of sending two hundred thousand workers from Bangladesh to Malaysia is scheduled to officially commence by the end of next September. According to the confirmed announcements, the entire labor migration process will be completed within a span of the next six months.
This major development follows a diplomatic meeting held on Sunday at the Secretariat in Dhaka. During this official gathering, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh, Mohammad Suhada Osman, met with the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives to discuss bilateral labor cooperation and migration procedures.
A notable aspect of this upcoming labor deployment is that Malaysia will take ten thousand workers completely free of cost. This provision aims to ease the financial burden on a significant portion of the migrant workers participating in this particular phase of the recruitment program.
Regarding the overall recruitment mechanics, Mir Shahe Alam provided specific operational details concerning the deployment. He stated, "Total two lakh will go, through their listed companies," explaining the structured mechanism through which the workers will be processed and sent abroad.
The meeting at the Secretariat marks a critical step forward in finalizing the logistical frameworks required for such a large-scale migration. Both the Bangladeshi authorities and the Malaysian High Commission are working to ensure the deployment proceeds smoothly according to the established six-month timeline.
