Bangladesh to Implement New Pay Scale with Seven SROs from July 2026

The government of Bangladesh has officially decided to issue a total of seven separate Statutory Regulatory Orders (SROs) as part of a comprehensive initiative to implement the much-anticipated new pay scale at the field level. According to the confirmed administrative plans, this structural salary adjustment and its associated operational directives are formally scheduled to take effect starting from the first of July, 2026.

To ensure a seamless, transparent, and efficient transition for public sector employees, the authorities have designated the advanced 'iBAS++' software platform to handle the core mechanics of the operation. Specifically, the complex salary determination and calculation process for personnel will be executed entirely and automatically through this integrated iBAS++ software system.

Despite the implementation of the new pay scale framework, the foundational structure of the compensation system will preserve the existing twenty grades without any structural reduction or expansion. Within this maintained structure of twenty tiers, the compensation spectrum spans significantly to accommodate different levels of service across the public administration.

At the very top of this preserved grading structure, the first grade commands a maximum base salary of 156,000 taka. Conversely, at the foundational entry level of the public service structure, the lowest twentieth grade establishes a base salary starting at 20,000 taka.

This sweeping national administrative update involves key government organs, including the Finance Division, along with specific services such as Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the Bangladesh Judicial Service. The comprehensive rollout of these seven SROs represents a major milestone in modernizing public sector remuneration through digital automation.
