Bangladesh Struggles Against Australia on Day 2 of Test Series

The Test series between Bangladesh and Australia continued to unfold across Darwin and Mackay, presenting a challenging contest for the touring side on Day 2. Bangladesh found themselves under immense pressure during the second innings of the match, struggling to build a meaningful partnership against the Australian bowling attack. By the conclusion of the first session on Day 2, Bangladesh had already lost three wickets while managing to put just 39 runs on the board, leaving their batting lineup with a mountain to climb to rescue the match.

Earlier in the match, the batting struggles were equally apparent during the first innings when Bangladesh was bundled out for a meager 64 runs. Australia fared relatively better, though they were eventually restricted to 210 runs all out in their own first innings. For Bangladesh, the first innings bowling effort was heavily spearheaded by Shariful Islam. Najmul Hossain Shanto contributed 31 runs from 46 balls, hitting six boundaries before his dismissal. Meanwhile, opener Sadman Islam managed just 1 run, and Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored 9 runs from 34 balls as the top order crumbled once again under pressure.
