Bangladesh Replaces India in FIFA ASEAN Cup Division-1 in Indonesia

The Bangladesh Football Federation, commonly known as BFF, has officially secured formal approval to participate in the upcoming FIFA ASEAN Cup Division-1 tournament. This significant development for South Asian football was confirmed on August 22, 2025, marking an important milestone for the national team's international competitive calendar.

Bangladesh's entry into the prestigious regional competition comes after India officially decided to withdraw from the tournament. Following India's exit from the tournament, the governing bodies extended the invitation to Bangladesh, granting the nation the valuable opportunity to compete on the international stage in Indonesia.

Tournament organizers have officially scheduled the international competition to commence on September 24, 2025. The matches will be hosted in Indonesia, bringing together competitive national squads from across the region for the Division-1 clashes.

As the official tournament groups were finalized, the Bangladesh national team was placed directly into Group A. In this challenging opening round, Bangladesh will face formidable regional opponents, including tournament hosts Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

To facilitate smooth participation for all competing nations, the organizers of the FIFA ASEAN Cup Division-1 have announced financial provisions. Specifically, the organizers will bear all expenses related to the travel and accommodation of the participating teams throughout the duration of the tournament.
