Bangladesh has registered a significant influx of foreign remittances during the ongoing month of August, according to official data released on August 30, 2026. In the first 29 days of the month, the country accumulated a total of two billion six hundred sixty-nine million US dollars in remittances from expatriate workers living abroad. This substantial financial flow highlights a strong and continued contribution of overseas citizens to the national economy.

When compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the growth in remittance earnings is notably pronounced. Between August 1 and August 29 of 2025, the nation had received two billion one hundred eighty-two million US dollars. The latest figures show a year-on-year increase of twenty-two point thirty percent, reflecting a positive upward trajectory in monetary transfers through official banking channels.

The strong performance in August has also contributed positively to the cumulative figures for the current fiscal year. According to the data covering the period from July 1 to August 29 of the 2026-27 fiscal year, Bangladesh has amassed a grand total of five billion five hundred twenty-seven million US dollars in overall remittances.
