Bangladesh Gold Prices Rise Again Following New Bajus Decision
Bangladesh Jeweller Association has announced an increase in gold and silver prices across the domestic market. The new rates, which include a notable hike for 22-carat gold, became effective from Saturday morning.

Gold and silver prices have officially increased in the local market of Bangladesh following a fresh announcement by the Bangladesh Jeweller Association (Bajus). The country's primary jewelry trade body decided to adjust the rates upwards, impacting various purities of gold as well as silver, according to the latest market updates.
Under the newly announced pricing structure determined by the Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee, the price of 22-carat gold has been increased by 5,482 taka per bhori. This adjustment brings the total new price for a bhori of 22-carat gold to 2,46,110 taka, marking a significant upward shift for consumers and traders alike in the domestic market.
In addition to the 22-carat category, the association has revised prices for other purities. The price of 21-carat gold has been raised by 5,249 taka, establishing a new rate of 2,35,035 taka per bhori. Furthermore, 18-carat gold has seen an increase of 4,491 taka, setting the price at 2,01,846 taka per bhori, while traditional method gold has gone up by 3,616 taka to reach 1,64,812 taka per bhori.
The updated pricing schedule was officially put into effect on Saturday, 22 August 2026, starting precisely from 10:00 AM. Jewelers across the country are required to follow these newly mandated rates for all transactions involving gold and silver in the local market from the stated time onward.
Alongside the adjustments applied to gold, the Bangladesh Jeweller Association confirmed that the prices of silver have also been increased. Dr. Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen and the pricing committee oversaw these widespread market revisions to align local rates with prevailing conditions.
