Artists and celebrities across Bangladesh have remembered Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of his 51st death anniversary, utilizing social media platforms to express their grief and offer respects. The somber observance took place on the 15th of August, 2026, marking more than half a century since the historical leader's passing.
The commemoration of the death anniversary unfolded under unique circumstances this year. Following the significant political shifts that occurred in the country after the 5th of August, 2024, the national day was not observed with the same level of official state programs and formal grandeur as seen in previous years.
