Bangla Five Drummer Adnan Rushdi Hospitalised After Wife's Dengue Death
Bangla Five drummer Adnan Rushdi has been admitted to the CCU following a heart attack, just one day after his wife passed away from dengue. The couple leaves behind a four-year-old son.
Musician Adnan Rushdi, the drummer for the band Bangla Five, has been hospitalised following a heart attack in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The medical emergency occurred on 30 August 2026, just one day after the tragic passing of his wife, Shirin Sultana.
According to the verified reports, Shirin Sultana died from dengue while receiving treatment at a private hospital. The loss of his wife left Adnan Rushdi in deep distress, culminating in a severe cardiac event the very next day. Following the heart attack, he was admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, which is locally referred to as Bangladesh Medical University.
Amidst this profound personal tragedy, the couple leaves behind a four-year-old son. The young boy is now facing the heartbreaking reality of losing his mother to dengue while his father remains under medical care in the intensive cardiac unit.
Adnan Rushdi is a well-known figure in the local music community, currently playing drums for the band Bangla Five. His professional career in the Bangladeshi music scene also includes a past tenure with the prominent musical group Chirkutt during the 2005-06 period.
Upon hearing the news of the family's devastating circumstances, members of the Chirkutt band expressed their deep sorrow and solidarity. Remembering his past contribution to their journey, Chirkutt released a statement regarding the drummer. 'Rushdi bhai played drums in our band for a short time and was our fellow traveller around 2005-06,' the band stated, adding that he had never failed to remain a well-wisher to them throughout the years.
