Celebrated actor Chanchal Chowdhury and his wife, Dr. Shanta Chowdhury, officially marked their 20th wedding anniversary on Thursday, August 27, in Bangladesh. The milestone comes after two decades of a shared life that began during the era of button-operated mobile phones, a period the actor reflected upon warmly while sharing personal memories of their early relationship with the public.

Recalling how their romance first blossomed, the actor shared a nostalgic anecdote about receiving a late-night phone call from a stranger who expressed admiration for his work. Although she did not explicitly say it at the time, he felt that her interest extended beyond his acting performances. Driven by that belief, they spent roughly a month conversing over mobile phones before making a life-altering commitment without even meeting in person first, mutually agreeing over the phone to marry if she was willing.

Reflecting on the circumstances surrounding their nuptials, the actor noted that his age was advancing rapidly at the time and he felt a deep sense of responsibility toward his parents and siblings. When he announced his decision to marry, his entire family was overjoyed. However, the bride's family was initially divided, with some relatives strongly opposed and others only half-inclined. Ultimately, making their own decision, they proceeded to marry in two separate phases: first through legal paperwork, and subsequently following religious customs and traditions.

Looking back at the two decades they have spent together, the actor acknowledged that their journey has involved weathering numerous challenges. He admitted that he never truly imagined a respectable lady would manage to sustain a household for so long alongside someone with his free-spirited nature, despite carrying thousands of complaints. He emphasized that the primary reason their marriage has successfully endured is their beloved son, Shuddho, who serves as the central bond holding their family together.
